Onboarding checklist per account

The checklist that turns a provisioned account into a running one — half of it ticking itself from real events, the rest owned by a named person with a due date.

What it is

A tab on the account showing days live, checklist progress, and whether the first estimate has happened. Auto steps are derived from the account itself — owner signed in, texting approved, numbers live, team invited, first estimate sent — and cannot be hand-ticked. Manual steps carry who did it and when, plus an optional owner and due date. Steps that do not apply are hidden until asked for.

The checklist with the three-tile summary strip, an 'auto' step ticked green, an overdue manual step in red with owner and due date pickers. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Auto steps read the account's real facts and render an 'auto' tag; the checkbox is disabled.
  2. 2Manual steps tick instantly on click — painted first, sent behind — and record who and when.
  3. 3Each open step can be given an owner from the agency roster and a due date; overdue steps turn red.
  4. 4A summary strip shows live-for, progress and first estimate, flagging 'stuck — 7d+ live, none yet'.
  5. 5A migration banner appears only for accounts that actually arrived on a legacy CRM, with the plan spelled out.
Why we built it

It moved from the sales card to the account on purpose: 'the checklist that used to live on the pipeline card, on the tenant where everyone will keep looking'. Auto-derivation is the point — 'Auto steps tick from real events… the rest tick by hand with who/when' — so nobody can mark texting live when it is not.

The problem
  • Onboarding lived on a sales card that nobody opened after the deal closed.
  • Hand-ticked checklists drift from reality — a step could be marked done while the thing was not working.
  • No one owned an unfinished step, so it stayed unfinished.

What you get
Setup state is derived from the system, so it cannot lie.
Every outstanding step has a name and a date against it.
An account stalling before its first estimate is visible on day seven, not month three.
