In-app ringing is scoped by line ownership. An assigned line rings its holder's browser and nobody else's. An unassigned line — the business's main number, the one automations text from — rings every admin, sales and project-management user who is signed in.
Also called: my customer called and someone else answered · personal line · shared line vs my line
- 1appClientsForNumber returns just the assignee's client identity when the number is assigned
- 2Unassigned numbers fall back to every eligible signed-in member
- 3Crew and worker roles never ring for the sales line
Every incoming call rang the whole floor, which is right for a main office line and wrong for a rep's own. A rep builds their own relationships over months, and a customer ringing that rep's number landing on a colleague's screen — where anyone can pick it up — undoes the reason for giving them a number in the first place. A line with an owner now rings only its owner; a line with no owner still rings everybody.
- Personal rep relationships broken by shared ringing
- Whole-office ring for calls meant for one person
