It shares the five stages, the funnel checklist, the send flow, the visibility panel, the version modal and the activity log with the SmartBuild engine — the difference is where the geometry comes from.

Post-frame builders who don't run SmartBuild had no estimating engine at all, and the ones who do wanted a designer that feeds the same commercial layer rather than a second tool with its own answers. Estimates built in the in-house 3D designer take their takeoff off the model and their prices off your book, then use the same list, stages, sending, versioning and customer portal as everything else. The whole thing is additive: the customer link works without a job id from the other system, in-house drafts sit on the same version spine, and the engine setting decides only which designer opens.
