The Materials tab. Lines expand into stock rows — '2x6 SPF · 10′ · 51 pcs' — each priced by pieces × length so the figure matches the list and the pipeline card. Editing a quantity writes an append-only adjustment; the latest adjustment per line is the current order quantity, and the original takeoff number stays visible beside it with the delta.

- 1expandMaterialRows explodes each line into its stock breakdown, keeping the line's own length when there is no breakdown.
- 2Every row is priced through the shared stock pricing function so per-foot materials bill pieces × length.
- 3Editing a quantity appends an adjustment row with the source, the takeoff quantity and the new quantity.
- 4Edited rows are flagged with their delta and can be reset individually or all at once.
A takeoff is a calculation and an order is a decision — waste, breakage and site reality mean the two differ, and typing over the takeoff destroys any way of seeing by how much. Every line is now broken into its stock lengths with each quantity editable, and the change is recorded against the takeoff figure rather than replacing it. The stock rows also had to be priced by length after a shipped bug charged each row by piece count against a per-foot rate: a 20ft post was billed as one foot, and the customer total came out $8,299 under the same building's total on the list and on the pipeline card — one estimate wearing two prices.
