What to say next, and what it costs them

A live ranking of the gaps worth discussing, headed by a running annual figure for the cost of leaving things as they are.

What it is

The rail beside the panel. It ranks confirmed gaps by weight, state and how badly their neighbours are also gapped, and suggests the next questions worth asking. Above it sits the running tally of what the current answers imply the builder is losing each year.

How it works
  1. 1Each capability's weight is multiplied by its state — none counts fully, manual almost fully, siloed at about two thirds, connected at almost nothing.
  2. 2A network amplifier lifts a gap whose neighbours are also gapped, capped so one hub cannot eat the board.
  3. 3Unknown neighbours still earn a small credit, so the ranking steers toward what has not been asked yet.
  4. 4The tally renders as an annual figure with the states behind it visible.
  5. 5Suggested asks point at the highest-leverage unanswered box.
Why we built it

The scoring module names the failure mode it exists to stop: 'the failure mode of a well-informed rep is not silence — it is enthusiasm about the wrong thing. A rep who loves the scheduling module will spend fifteen minutes on scheduling for a prospect whose actual problem is that signed change orders never reach an invoice. The ranking is not a feature list; it is a stop sign in front of the low-leverage tangent.'

The problem
  • Call time went to whatever the rep found interesting.
  • The cost of the status quo was never quantified during the conversation.
  • Unanswered areas were never chased in order of importance.

What you get
The conversation stays on the thing with the most leverage.
The builder hears an annual figure built from their own answers.
The most valuable unasked question is always on screen.
