Snap this screen

One button screenshots what you're looking at — no keyboard shortcuts, no permissions, same on a phone and a laptop.

What it is

In-browser rasterization of the currently active view, cropped to the visible viewport, attached to the report as an image. It works identically on desktop and mobile and requires no operating-system screenshot skills.

How it works
  1. 1It captures the ACTIVE view only, not the whole document — the app keeps every view mounted and hidden, so rasterizing the page walked all of them and hung
  2. 2The renderer parses the modern colour formats the app's styling emits; the earlier one threw on the first token
  3. 3A 15-second race guards against a hang, and iframes plus the widget itself are excluded from the image
  4. 4Failure gives a plain message pointing at the paperclip button rather than an error
Why we built it

Most people cannot take a screenshot. Not won't — can't: the shortcut differs on every machine, the image lands somewhere they then have to go and find, and on a phone it is a different gesture again. One button takes the shot for them. An earlier version hid the report window while it snapped, which made the whole thing look as though it had closed and lost the half-written note — builders reported leaving and coming back several times before a screenshot stuck — so now nothing moves and nothing disappears.

The problem
  • Bug reports without pictures because the reporter can't take one
  • Capture flows that blank the UI and lose the half-written report
