Silence — stop it ringing here without hanging up on them

A third option beside Answer and Decline that stops the ring on your screen while the caller keeps ringing through to voicemail.

What it is

Silence calls the SDK's ignore, which suppresses ringing on this browser only. The caller experiences it exactly as if nobody happened to be at their desk, and the call rolls to voicemail normally.

Also called: mute the ring · don't hang up on the customer · ignore the call

Why we built it

The only way to stop a phone ringing mid-conversation was to decline, which sends a rejection down the line — and plenty of customers can tell they were cut off rather than simply missed. Being hung up on by a builder you are trying to hand a job to is a bad first impression, and it is the one the caller remembers. Silence sits beside Answer and Decline: it stops the ring on your screen while the caller rings on through to voicemail.

The problem
  • A rejected call reading to the customer as being hung up on
  • No middle option between answering and rejecting
Sound familiar?
What you get
Decline gracefully without the caller knowing
The voicemail still gets left
