Next action — a note to yourself on a lead

On any lead card, write the message you want sent back to yourself, pick text / email / push, set the date and time — and the reminder engine delivers it to you.

What it is

A Remind me block inside the stage protocol panel: a channel multi-select ('Send me a…'), a free-text message, a date-and-time picker with past dates disabled, and a line confirming what will happen. An overdue reminder shows a pulsing Overdue chip on the card. Re-setting the reminder re-arms it.

The 'Remind me' block on a pipeline card: channel chips, the message field, the date picker, and the confirming sentence. StageProtocolBody.tsx. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1The message, channels and due moment save onto the lead — pipeline_opportunities for estimate-backed leads, pipeline_synthetic_contacts for leads with no estimate.
  2. 2The cron scans BOTH stores for due, armed, unfired reminders and delivers: in-app always, plus text to the rep's phone, email to the rep's address, and web push to every browser they opted in on.
  3. 3next_action_fired_at is stamped so it cannot double-fire; clearing it is what re-arms the reminder.
  4. 4Push is disabled in the picker where the browser cannot support it.
Why we built it

Migration 104 describes the intent: 'The rep writes a message to themselves, picks delivery channels… at that time the reminders cron delivers the message back to the rep so they never forget the next step for that lead.' Migration 106 extended the same machinery to leads with no estimate attached, so a manually added or imported lead is not second-class.

The problem
  • Follow-up intentions with nothing to enforce them
  • Reminders only possible on leads that happened to have an estimate
