A Remind me button at every junction

The same task composer is dropped at every place where a builder actually thinks “I need to chase this” — invoices, estimates, contracts, change orders, projects, stages, SOP steps, payment schedules, contacts and team members.

What it is

A small Remind me button that carries the surrounding context into the composer. Each junction supplies its own label, suggested title, presets and ids, so a reminder raised on an unpaid invoice is filed under Invoicing with the customer's name, and one raised on a Gantt stage is filed under Project Mgmt with the job's name.

A montage: the same small clock-icon Remind me button on an unpaid invoice row, a change order row, a Gantt stage fold and an SOP step. TaskComposer.tsx RemindMeButton. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1RemindMeButton is exported from TaskComposer and dropped wherever there is context.
  2. 2Each site passes label, suggestedTitle, subject, the entity ids and a source string used for learned-time counters.
  3. 3Unpaid invoices get the button; paid ones do not — 'Paid ones need no nudge.'
  4. 4The SOP step version opens 'pre-titled with this step, filed under this deal's contact so it shows in the card's Tasks cluster, the Task Hub, and the calendar' (Keith 07-31), and only for steps that are neither done nor automatic.
Why we built it

The junction comments name each real moment. Invoices: 'Unpaid invoices are the single most common thing a builder means to chase and forgets.' Change orders: 'A change order waiting on a customer decision is the classic thing that gets forgotten… not in a task tab that knows none of this.' Contacts: pre-addressed to this conversation, for 'the things a rep actually means by "I'll get back to them"'. Team: 'A person-shaped reminder: check in, reassign, chase paperwork.' The Gantt keeps a whole-project reminder distinct from the stage folds' own.

The problem
  • Follow-up decided in the moment but recorded nowhere
  • Reminders that lose the context they were about
