A per-event, per-channel switch set under My Profile. Blank means inherit the org's setting; off means personally muted. The screen also holds the mobile number used for notification texts. The ceiling rule is stated in the UI itself.
Also called: stop notifying me · my notification settings · personal mute · too many alerts for me
- 1Overrides store as three nullable flags per (org, user, event) — NULL inherits, false mutes.
- 2The dispatcher ANDs the org grant with the person's override and caches it briefly so a burst does not re-read the same rows.
- 3Admins can open the same panel for another member.
Migration 193 quotes the request: “granular permissions for notifications per user… allow the user to do what they want”, and fixes the ceiling: 'true is stored but can never grant more than the org grid allows'. The panel restates it so nobody is confused: 'Muted-here beats granted-there; nothing here grants what the grid doesn't.'
- One org-wide setting forced on everybody
- Personal preferences that could over-grant
