The material sections listed rows adding up to $94,365.94 and then printed a supplier total of $100,253.63 underneath them, with $5,887.69 of sales tax appearing nowhere on the page. It reads as an arithmetic error, and it sent people hunting for a pricing bug that did not exist. The column now runs sections, pre-tax subtotal, sales tax, supplier total — so the number printed under the list is the number the list adds to, and it is obvious why the supplier order sheet shows a different figure.
