A service kind that reads a size out of the catalogue row's name (14x14, 10x10 insulated) and creates the matching opening, remembering that it created it so removing the service removes the door. Insulating an existing door finds and prices the matching insulated catalogue row.
Also called: garage door package · insulated door price · door upgrade · overhead door pricing
- 1parseGarageDoorSize() reads width, height and an insulated flag out of the row name.
- 2Placing the service creates the opening through the same clamps as any other placement.
- 3The right-click menu on a door offers Insulate with the catalogue price as the hint, and Change size with a priced hint per catalogue package.
- 4syncGarageDoorService() keeps the service line and the opening in step when either changes.
- 5Garage doors are one of the few service kinds that stack rather than being unique per building.
Doors are the largest single line after the shell and the item customers change their minds about most, so every size change meant editing the drawing and then remembering to edit the estimate. Doors on the building are tied to their priced catalogue row, so changing the size changes the price in the same gesture. A door that got bigger on the render cannot keep the old price on the quote.
- Door size and door price maintained separately.
