A connector pass working in exact contact geometry — the hip's true 45-degree centreline segment and the real wall lines — rather than bounding-box guesses. A purlin or jack ending ON a hip segment gets a face-mount or skewed hanger; a rafter or truss crossing a wall line gets an uplift tie at the wall top.

- 1Plan centreline segments are computed from each member's slope length times cos(tilt), because size along the long axis is the SLOPE length.
- 2Ties live at the HEEL — the bottom chord crossing the wall line — since top chords are plumb-cut outlines and no longer indicate bearing.

- 4A monitor's raised centre gets ties on its interior column lines.
- 5The takeoff counts each nominal directly off the modelled hardware, with a note on what each one is for.
Hardware is the easiest thing to leave off an order and the most annoying thing to be short of on a Saturday with a crew standing around. An earlier pass placed brackets off bounding boxes, which floated them out over the eaves attached to nothing. Connectors are now counted off the modelled points where members actually meet, so the hardware count is exactly as right as the geometry is.
