Stage checklists (the SOP for each stage)

Each stage carries the list of things that must be true before a deal is allowed to leave it, ticked on the card, with the later ones ticking themselves.

What it is

A per-stage checklist stored on the card. New lead wants the source confirmed, first contact made and the discovery call booked. Discovery wants the guide run, the current stack and its cost captured, the buyer read scored and the demo booked. Demo wants a demo on the prospect's own numbers, objections answered and the decision path confirmed. Proposal wants price and exclusivity in writing, the proposal sent from the card and a follow-up after they opened it. From Signed onward the builder's own proposal page drives the record.

This checklist is per visit — it resets if the deal re-enters this stage. Completed steps are recorded in the stage transition history.

The '<Stage> SOP' section on the card with 3/4 ticked, each step's hint under it, and the green 'All done' exit line. The real screen, drawn from the product’s own design system. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1The card shows the checklist for the stage it is in, with a done count.
  2. 2Ticking writes to the card's protocol state with who and when, and appears in the activity log.
  3. 3Completing them all shows the stage's exit line and points at the stage buttons.
  4. 4Signed-stage steps are marked auto — paid, contract, booked, intake — and tick as the funnel reports back.
  5. 5The Onboarding stage's GHL migration step is explicitly conditional on the builder having arrived on GHL.
Why we built it

The library says the shape it copies: 'the agency's SOP per stage, the way a builder's stage protocol works: what has to be true before a card is allowed to leave.' It is the same doctrine the builder-facing product uses, pointed at the agency's own selling.

The problem
  • Deals moved stages on optimism rather than on anything having happened.
  • The steps that close a deal lived in one rep's habits.

What you get
Every builder gets the same conversation, in the same order.
A deal cannot quietly skip the step that actually closes it.
