Numbered notes with an edit ledger

Notes on a deal are numbered, searchable, editable — and every creation and edit is kept as a ledger line showing who changed what.

What it is

A notes section on the card where each note carries a sequence number so it can be referred to out loud ('note #7'), a search box once there is more than one, and an expandable ledger beneath each note listing every revision with the actor and the before/after text.

Also called: call notes · who changed the note · note history · note #7

How it works
  1. 1Typing a note paints it immediately and saves behind.
  2. 2Each note gets a sequence number within the deal.
  3. 3Editing keeps the original text in the revision ledger rather than overwriting history.
  4. 4Search filters the list, including by number.
  5. 5Every note action also lands on the deal's activity timeline.
Why we built it

Numbering and revisions arrived together in the agency CRM depth work so a note could be cited unambiguously and an edit could not silently rewrite what someone else recorded — the same discipline the bug and feature ledgers apply to resolutions.

The problem
  • An edited note destroyed the original record.
  • Notes could not be referred to precisely in a conversation.

What you get
The original wording survives every edit.
A note can be cited by number on a call.
