Pin the version the customer sees

Choose which version the customer's portal shows — including deliberately an older one — without destroying anything newer.

What it is

A revertable selection pointer per estimate. Default is the latest; 'Make this the live version' pins an earlier one. Newer versions are never deleted, so the choice is always reversible.

Also called: make this the live version · revert to an earlier quote · go back to version 3

A version row with the 'Selected' badge and the 'Make this the live version' action on an older row (VersionsModal.tsx). Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Selection is one row per estimate pointing at a version number; no row means 'use the latest'.
  2. 2An explicit pin always wins in the portal resolver, full stop — choosing is the whole point of the feature.
  3. 3A selection row pointing at something that is not a customer-visible send is treated as leftover state, not a choice, so it can't freeze the portal on whatever happened to be latest at the time.
Why we built it

The customer always saw the newest version, which meant a routine sync could move the price under a live negotiation without anybody choosing to. Which version the customer's portal shows is now an explicit, revertable choice: a rep can hold them on an earlier one regardless of newer syncs, and nothing newer is destroyed to do it.

The problem
  • Reverting a customer's quote meant rebuilding it
