Fix a customer's team and permissions from outside

Every user in a builder account with their role and their overrides, editable on the spot, so a 'my guy can't do X' call is fixed without impersonating anybody.

What it is

A tab listing the owner and every member with role, status and any custom permission overrides. Role changes auto-save. A per-member drawer exposes curated capability toggles grouped as Team & access, Can view and Can do; overrides are stored as the difference from the role's defaults, so 'Reset to role defaults' is simply clearing the override.

Also called: my employee can't see X · role change · user permissions · who can invite people · access fix

The Team & Permissions tab: member rows with a role Select, one expanded into the grouped capability toggles with 'Reset to role defaults'. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Pick a new role from the Select and it saves immediately.
  2. 2Expand a member to toggle specific capabilities — invite members, see all crews, view invoices, approve hours, send messages, delete records, and so on.
  3. 3Overrides merge over the role baseline rather than replacing it, so a role change still moves everything the override does not name.
  4. 4The granular per-field stage sub-permissions are deliberately left out — operators tune capabilities, not stage fields.
Why we built it

The panel's own header gives the calling scenario: it 'lets the operator fix a client's access on the spot ("my employee can't add team members" → bump their role or flip canInviteMembers) without impersonating.' There is a matching read-only diagnostic behind it built so the owner can answer 'can Chris's workers see the schedule?' in one call instead of clicking through Settings for every member.

The problem
  • Fixing one person's access required entering the account as somebody.
  • Nobody could see, in one view, which of a customer's users had non-default permissions.
  • 'Can they see the schedule?' took a click-through of every member.
Sound familiar?
What you get
A permissions complaint is resolved during the call that raised it.
Custom overrides are visible instead of mysterious.
Role changes still behave correctly on people who have overrides.
