Internal notes on an account

A running internal note stream on each builder account, with author and time, that the customer never sees.

What it is

A tab on the account holding notes written by staff. The roster shows a note count per account, so the presence of context is visible before opening it. Notes are separate from the customer conversation and are never sent anywhere.

The Notes tab list with author and timestamp per note, and the note count badge on the roster row. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Write a note; it saves with the author's identity and a timestamp.
  2. 2Notes list newest first on the account's Notes tab.
  3. 3The account list carries a note count and can be sorted by it.
Why we built it

Part of the same problem the client conversation solves — context about a customer lived in individuals' heads. Notes give the internal half a home that is deliberately distinct from anything the customer can receive, mirroring the conversation composer's rule that an internal note 'stays internal, they never see it'.

The problem
  • Account context lived only with whoever last spoke to the customer.
  • Internal context and customer-facing messages risked being confused.

What you get
Context survives a staff change.
Internal and customer-facing records can never be mistaken for each other.
