A modal that derives the subdomain from the company name (and lets it be overridden), previews the resulting URL, picks a plan that drives the trial length, and optionally attaches an existing login as owner. It creates the organization, its invoice settings and an audit entry in one step.
Also called: white glove onboarding · set up an account for a customer · internal test tenant · manual signup
- 1Type the company name; the slug auto-derives until the operator edits it, then stops fighting them.
- 2The preview line shows the real URL the customer will use.
- 3Slug validation rejects reserved words and any collision, including with suspended accounts, so reactivating one later cannot conflict.
- 4If the owner email does not match a real login the account still creates and the modal warns — no half-failed state.
- 5The plan choice sets the trial period.
The modal states the gap: 'today new tenants only come from the self-signup flow. For operator-driven onboarding (white-glove sales, internal test tenants, pre-launch demo accounts) we need a way to create a tenant from /platform without making the customer go through /sign-up first.'
- Every account had to come through a public form, even ones sold in person.
- Demo and test accounts could not be created without faking a signup.
