Two snap systems. STANDARD SIZES: published ladders per opening kind (overhead 8/9/10/12/14/16/18/20/24 wide, 7-16 tall; walk 3068 and 3070; sliders; windows) plus eave-height and pitch ladders and bay-multiple plan snapping. ALIGNMENT SNAPPING: Figma-style smart guides that pull a dragged opening's edges, centreline, sill or head onto another opening's.

- 1snapToLadder() moves a value onto the nearest rung inside a threshold; past the threshold it is free until the next rung's threshold.
- 2Standard-size snapping happens BEFORE the framing clamps, so a snapped standard still has to satisfy jamb clearance and neighbour gaps.
- 3Alignment snapping is automatic on every drag; SHIFT locks the motion axis by the dominant total delta, re-evaluated each move so you can switch axis mid-drag.
- 4A snapped axis skips the 3in grid, because a window head landing on a 6ft-8in door head is off-grid and requantizing would break the alignment you just saw lock.
- 5The magnet toggle is persisted; with it off there are no guides and no pull, but SHIFT axis lock and the framing clamps still apply.
Post-frame packages are ordered off manufactured size ladders — a supplier sells a 12ft panel, not a 12.37ft one — so a building dragged to an arbitrary decimal has to be renegotiated before it can be bought. Dimensions snap to the real manufacturer and industry ladders as you drag, with a magnet you can weaken or hold a key to defeat. The gestures are borrowed from the design tools people already use, so they are ones a builder mostly already has in their hands.
- Hand-dragged dimensions produce sizes that have to be special ordered.
