A deliberate single source for the customer-facing phone on the estimate footer and the dashboard's contact button. The old portal_defaults contact_footer phone field is marked deprecated on the type and is never read or written.
Also called: wrong phone number on my quote · customer called themselves · call us button
- 1orgCfg.businessPhone is read from the config endpoint and used verbatim
- 2No fallback is applied; an empty value renders no phone and no call button
- 3Email and address stay portal-level because they have no Business Info twin
Three separate faults put the wrong phone number in front of customers. One quote told the buyer to call themselves, because the number was read off the job record and that field held the customer's own line. A stale personal number saved in the portal defaults outranked the corrected business one, and a leftover environment setting would have printed a single deployment's number on every builder's estimate. Every customer surface reads one number from one place now, including the dashboard's Call button, which kept the bug for months after the estimate page was fixed.
- Fallback chains resolving to somebody's wrong number
- The same bug fixed on one surface and left on another
