Material spend is the largest variable cost on a post-frame job and it arrives as a stream of purchase orders across weeks. Grouping actuals by build phase — rather than by supplier — matches how a builder budgets, and the phase list is taken from the project's own schedule so a custom stage is not silently dropped.
