Confirm the porch square footage (wraparound corners)

Raise the auto-summed porch area to cover a wraparound porch's shared corner, and the confirmed number feeds both the customer's porch line and the labour calculator.

What it is

The designer sums porch legs (width × length each), which undercounts a wraparound because the shared corner belongs to both legs. The builder can confirm a higher figure per job; that number then wins over the leg-sum everywhere, including in labour.

How it works

Why we built it

A wraparound porch's shared corner belongs to both legs, so adding the legs up undercounts it — one job summed to 240 square feet where the real covered area was 340. That corner was on the roof and being framed, and it was priced at nothing. Raising the porch figure now feeds the labour calculator as well as the customer's porch line, because the porch total is part of the roof and labour has to see the same number the customer does.
