Keypad, with tones during a call

A dial pad that calls a typed number, and sends touch tones instead when you're already on a call.

What it is

The Keypad tab: a large mono entry field, a twelve-key pad, backspace and Call. While a call is active the same keys send DTMF tones and the field explains that. If the typed number matches a saved contact their name appears; the caller ID the customer will see is printed underneath.

Why we built it

Suppliers, inspection lines and county offices all sit behind phone menus, extensions and access codes. A dialer that cannot send tones once a call is connected sends the user back to their handset to redial the whole thing, and the call is then no longer recorded against the job. The keypad dials a typed number and switches to sending touch tones as soon as a call is live.
