Filter the material list by section

Chips for Framing, Sheathing, Trim, Doors & Windows, Foundation and Fasteners, plus any extra category the take-off produced.

What it is

A row of category filters above the material table. The known sections come first in a fixed order, and any additional category present in the take-off is appended so nothing is hidden by a hard-coded list.

Also called: framing only · material categories · filter the BOM

The chip row 'All / Framing / Sheathing / Trim / Doors & Windows / Foundation / Fasteners' above the material table. InternalEstimateMaterials.tsx. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1The fixed order is Framing, Sheathing, Trim, Doors & Windows, Foundation, Fasteners
  2. 2Only categories actually present in the rows are shown
  3. 3Any category outside the fixed list is appended as an extra chip
  4. 4Selecting a chip filters the table; 'All' returns everything
Why we built it

These are the sections a builder already thinks in, and they are the same groupings the supplier order and the receiving pass use — one vocabulary across the take-off, the order and the tailgate.

The problem
  • A long BOM is hard to scan for one trade's materials

What you get
The list narrows to the section you are working on
Unexpected categories are never hidden
