Findings toast, then retire into a panel

A finding pops for five seconds when it first appears, then lives in an Issues panel for as long as it is true.

What it is

Two lives for every finding: a transient toast on first appearance, and a persistent panel entry with a standing count on the button. Nothing is lost by being dismissed.

A toast mid-life over the model, and the same finding listed in the opened Issues panel with the count badge. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1First appearance is keyed on the rule plus its subject, not on the message text — a live drag rewrites the numbers every frame and keying on text would machine-gun the same warning sixty times a second.
  2. 2The panel groups findings by area (Openings, Structure, Additions, Foundation) and shows the level of each.
  3. 3The count on the button is the standing truth.
  4. 4The same component is mounted by the real page and the dev harness, so the timing and retirement logic has exactly one implementation.
Why we built it

Every finding used to stack permanently on top of the model — three paragraphs of amber parked across the viewport while a builder was trying to show a customer their building — and a message that never leaves stops being read. New findings now appear for about five seconds and then get out of the way, collecting behind a counter in the corner that opens the full list on click. Nothing is lost and nothing sits on the building.

The problem
  • Permanent overlays that obscure the thing being designed.
  • Warnings that repeat every frame during a drag.

What you get
The viewport stays the viewport.
A dismissed finding is still counted and still readable.
New findings still get your attention.
