Public enquiry forms attract bots, and every junk submission is either a lead the builder chases or a notification they learn to ignore — and ignoring notifications is how a real lead gets missed. A field hidden from people sits in the markup for bots to fill; anything that fills it gets a thank-you page and nothing is recorded. Returning success rather than an error matters, because an error teaches the bot what tripped it and it comes back adapted.
