Analytics measurement id, validated on entry

A Google Analytics measurement id can be stored against the site, format-checked so a mistyped value is rejected rather than silently collecting nothing.

What it is

A settings value on the site row, validated against the G-prefixed format on save, surfaced alongside the other engine connections in the SEO panel's connection state.

Also called: GA4 · Google Analytics · measurement id · G- id

An engines row in the SEO panel: Search Console (connected), GA4 (G-XXXXXXX), IndexNow (on). Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1An operator pastes a measurement id.
  2. 2It is checked against the expected format and rejected with a plain message if it does not match.
  3. 3The value is stored in the site settings.
  4. 4The panel reports it alongside Search Console and IndexNow status.
Why we built it

The validation message is written for a human: 'That doesn't look like a GA4 measurement id (G-XXXXXXX).' It exists so a mistyped id is caught at entry rather than discovered weeks later as missing data.

The problem
  • A mistyped measurement id silently collected no data.
