A live search results check for a tracked keyword returns your absolute position, the exact ranking URL, and the ten domains above you.

What it is

A live organic results call to a depth of 100 for a keyword in a named location and language. It finds the entry matching the tracked domain (ignoring the www prefix), returning position and found URL, plus the top ten results so a rep can see who is actually there.

Why we built it

Built as part of the SEO module (Keith 08-19) so ranking is measured rather than assumed. Rank checks are the expensive part of the daily sweep — the standalone sitemap job exists precisely because 'rank checks cost real money per keyword'.
