A three-step funnel computed from the same events, counted as distinct sessions at each step, with the engaged and submitted counts shown against the session total. When organic is still zero, the panel says so rather than presenting an empty funnel as a failure.
Also called: conversion funnel · website conversion rate · how many enquiries
- 1sessions = distinct sessions with a page view; engaged = distinct sessions with a click; submitted = distinct sessions with a form submit.
- 2Named click events come from data-evt attributes; untagged buttons and links are auto-named from their href and text so the funnel works before every control is tagged.
- 3Outbound clicks are recorded separately from internal ones.
- 4Per page, click, submit and outbound counts and the top named events are rolled up alongside.
The auto-naming rule is the interesting part: "anything with data-evt is a named event; otherwise CTAs are auto-named from href/text so the funnel works before every button is tagged." Analytics that only work after someone has instrumented every control never start producing data, because the instrumentation is always half finished.
- Drop-off between arrival and enquiry was invisible.
- Event tracking required tagging every control before any data appeared.
