A guardrail on both drag-and-drop and the card's move control. Attempting a forward jump across the Contract Sent line on an estimate-backed deal checks whether a contract exists for that job and has reached sent status. If not, the move is blocked with an explanation and a button to go to Estimates. Manual-only cards with no estimate pass through untouched.

Deals were reaching Contract Sent and beyond on the board without a contract ever having gone to the customer, so the pipeline reported a signature it was still waiting on. A deal that has an estimate now cannot cross that line until a contract has actually been sent. It is a guardrail rather than a lock: if the check itself cannot run it lets the deal through, and the manual override path preserves the requirement so an override never becomes the way around it.
