The proposal funnel, read vertically

The same seven steps a roster shows as horizontal dots, redrawn as a numbered vertical list with when each happened, what it means and how long each leg took.

What it is

A presentational block used on the Journeys detail and the Proposals page. Completed steps carry a tick and a timestamp, the current step is outlined, the ones ahead are dotted with their meaning spelled out. Gaps between steps show as durations.

The vertical funnel card: ticked stages with times, the outlined current stage marked 'now', dotted future stages with descriptions, '+2d 4h' between two of them. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1The caller supplies the stages and the actions; the block renders the state.
  2. 2Current is the first stage that has not happened; when all are done the last one carries the finished state.
  3. 3Each unmet stage shows its description — 'They opened the proposal page', 'Down payment + first month went through'.
  4. 4Time between consecutive completed stages renders as '+2d 4h'.
Why we built it

The component argues the two orientations: 'The journey reads HORIZONTALLY: one row of lit dots, lead → live, so a whole roster scans at a glance. The moment you open one, the question changes from "where is everyone?" to "what happened to THIS one, and what do I do next?" — and that is a vertical list.' It is deliberately the panel-side twin of the customer-facing estimate funnel 'so the two surfaces teach each other'.

The problem
  • A row of identical dots cannot answer 'what happens next'.
  • The time cost of each step was invisible.

What you get
The next required action is named, not inferred.
