A designed email rather than a notification. A confetti row, the tier word and category in small caps, the category emoji at 64px, the number at 56px, then a short gratitude message naming the company and what the milestone means. A 'Next up' box names the following tier, or, at the top of a ladder, says 'You've reached the top of this ladder. We'll build a taller one.'
Also called: congratulations email · milestone email · thank you email · you hit 100 estimates
- 1Only the highest newly-reached tier per category is emailed; lower tiers crossed in the same run are recorded quietly.
- 2Recipients are the account's owner and admins, resolved from the member list.
- 3The email renders through the platform brand layout and the notified timestamp is stamped after sending.
- 4A send failure is caught so it never blocks the award being recorded.
The copy in the email is the argument: 'The platform is what it is today because builders like you run real work through it every day and tell us what needs to be better — so this one's on you, and we're grateful for your business.' The one-email-per-category rule exists so a busy month does not produce a stream of near-identical messages.
- Vendor communication was entirely transactional.
- Naive milestone systems spam on every threshold.
