Remove demo data

One menu item wipes any practice rows a tour created, and abandoned sessions get swept automatically next time you open the app.

What it is

Demo teardown with three triggers: normal (tour completed or exited), manual ('Remove demo data' in the Academy panel's gear menu, shown only when demo rows exist) and automatic (a stale-session sweep when the flag says rows were seeded but no resumable demo tour references them).

Solves
1 named problem
01Local board state is swept by id prefix first so the card disappears instantly, then the server delete runs
02The delete is owner-scoped server-side, so it can only ever remove your own demo rows — never another rep's active practice lead
03The persisted 'has demo data' flag is only cleared after a successful delete; if the request fails the flag stays and the next session retries
The Academy panel gear menu open with 'Remove demo data', then the demo card disappearing from the board. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Local board state is swept by id prefix first so the card disappears instantly, then the server delete runs
  2. 2The delete is owner-scoped server-side, so it can only ever remove your own demo rows — never another rep's active practice lead
  3. 3The persisted 'has demo data' flag is only cleared after a successful delete; if the request fails the flag stays and the next session retries
  4. 4A re-sweep runs one reconcile-poll period later in case an in-flight fetch re-added the row
Why we built it

A browser crash halfway through a practice run was the one way a fake lead could be left sitting on a real board — and a fake lead on a real board eventually becomes somebody phoning a customer who does not exist. One menu item clears any practice rows a walkthrough created. Anything left behind by a session that never finished is swept the next time the account is opened, so nobody has to remember it.

The problem
  • Practice data surviving a crashed or abandoned training session
