Gauge resolution for the roofing and siding spec rows, taken from the ordered panels in the material list, with the dominant-by-quantity item winning and wainscot excluded from the wall read because it is commonly a different gauge.

Why we built it

When the steel gauge came back as an internal code rather than a readable value, the proposal fell back to printing 29 ga — which stated the wrong gauge, in writing, on a signed proposal for a 26-gauge order. That is a specification a customer can hold a builder to. The gauge is now read from what was actually ordered, and where it genuinely cannot be determined the proposal stays silent rather than guessing.
