Once a schedule has been scrambled by one bad date, the plan that was originally intended is simply gone — there is nothing to restore it from. Rebuilding the stages back to back from a start date the builder picks is the one repair that is honest about being a repair, and the resulting dates and total length are shown before anyone commits to them.
