Declutter the map to just the borders

All / Roads / Borders presets that strip Google's business POIs and transit clutter down to land, water and jurisdiction lines.

What it is

Three JSON map-style presets applied via map.setOptions({styles}). 'All' is the Google default; 'Roads' drops business POIs and transit; 'Borders' drops roads as well, leaving land, water, parks and place names under the coloured jurisdiction outlines. The choice persists in localStorage.

The All / Roads / Borders segmented control top-right, and the same view with and without POIs. PermitCheckPanel.tsx MAP_STYLES. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1MAP_STYLES holds the three style arrays
  2. 2JSON styling works because the map is created WITHOUT a vector Map ID
  3. 3The choice is written to localStorage under permitMapDetail and re-applied on load
Why we built it

The base map is optimised for finding a restaurant, not for reading a boundary. The comment states the intent: 'let the rep declutter the base map down to just what's relevant for permitting.'

The problem
  • Business POIs obscure the border that answers the question

What you get
The border is the most visible thing on the map
