Export the material list and the cut list

Two CSVs and a markdown copy: what to buy, what gets cut out of each stick, and what the list deliberately does not cover.

What it is

A material-list document derived from the takeoff — never from a second formula — carrying the building's own numbers (footprint, eave, roof type and system, spacings, embedment, opening and addition counts), every BOM line with stock mix and waste, the per-stick cut list, an omissions list and a disclaimer.

How it works
  1. 1Order CSV: category, usage, item, qty, unit, consumed LF, purchased LF, waste LF, stock mix, special-order flag and note.
  2. 2Cut CSV: per stock piece, the cuts taken out of it and the drop left.
  3. 3Copy list produces markdown including the Not-on-this-list section.
  4. 4Both CSVs carry a preamble stating the building, the roof, the spacings and the disclaimer, so a file that travels alone still says what it is for.
  5. 5Omissions adapt: the slab and insulation lines drop out of the list of exclusions once those options are actually on the design.
Why we built it

A material list handed to a customer or a supplier gets treated as more than it is, and the expensive misunderstanding is somebody believing it is a stamped engineering package. Every export states what is not on it: engineering and the PE stamp, labour, freight, site grading, permits, and the shop-cut truss chords and webs that live inside a factory truss and would double-order the job if they were listed. Naming the exclusions is what makes the list safe to send at all.

The problem
  • A takeoff trapped inside the app.
  • A design aid mistaken for an engineered package.

What you get
Buy from one file, cut from another.
The exclusions travel with the document.
Filenames encode the building (size, shape, eave).
