Internal versus to-customers

A filter splitting messages that stay inside the company from messages the customer actually sees, labelled in those words.

What it is

Three chips — All, Internal, To customers — each with a tooltip. Internal: 'Stays inside your company — you, your reps, project managers, admins.' To customers: 'Goes OUT to the customer — they see these.'

Solves
1 named problem
01Internal rows come from the event catalogue; customer rows come from the external-message catalogue.
02Selecting 'To customers' swaps the role columns for per-message channel switches.
The All / Internal / To customers chips with the customer view selected. NotificationsTab.tsx. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Internal rows come from the event catalogue; customer rows come from the external-message catalogue.
  2. 2Selecting 'To customers' swaps the role columns for per-message channel switches.
Why we built it

The label change is recorded verbatim: “'External' is our word, not a builder's: it describes a network perimeter rather than a person. What someone actually needs to know before flipping a switch is whether their CUSTOMER sees the message, so the label says that. 'Internal' stays as-is — that one already reads plainly.” asked for the distinction to be visible and filterable.

The problem
  • Jargon hiding the only question that matters before flipping a switch

What you get
No ambiguity about who reads a message
Customer-facing messages reviewable as a set
