When an appointment has no meeting URL of its own, the calendar event is created with a conference request. The returned Meet link is written back onto the appointment so every downstream surface uses the same URL.
Also called: Google Meet · video call link · join link
- 1A platform booking is pushed to Google for the first time.
- 2If it has no meeting URL, a conference create-request is included.
- 3The returned hangout link (or the video entry point) is stored on the appointment.
- 4Confirmation emails and both calendars then carry the same link.
Recorded as Keith 08-18 inline: 'ask Google for a Meet room too: the link lands on the appointment (when it doesn't already have one), in the confirmation emails, and in both calendars.'
- Meeting links had to be created and pasted manually.
- Two systems could carry different links for the same meeting.
