Bill individual estimate components

Tick the estimate components you want to bill — Framing, Sheathing, Trim, Doors & Windows, Trusses, Freight, Foundation — and insert each as its own line.

What it is

A multi-select list of the estimate's material sections with their subtotals, plus the same pattern for payment stages. Ticking several and pressing insert appends one line item per selection, each titled with the component name and priced at its subtotal.

The 'Material Breakdown (select components to invoice)' checkbox list with dollar subtotals and an insert button. src/components/invoices/InvoiceEditor.tsx. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Sections come from the approved snapshot's materialSections, or from the server SmartBuild cache when no approval exists.
  2. 2Labour sections are recognised by name so the aggregate labour and material totals can be backfilled when they are missing.
  3. 3Inserting clears the checkboxes, because the new rows land above the fold and the reset is the only visible confirmation.
Why we built it

The one-click material palette read from whatever the estimating screen had left behind in that browser, so on a machine that had never opened it the palette came up empty and any insert landed as a zero-dollar line with no warning. Materials and totals are now read from the job itself, so the palette works cold. Selections clear after an insert, because otherwise nothing on screen confirms it worked and the builder inserts again.

The problem
  • Hand-splitting an estimate into component invoices.
  • One-click inserts producing $0 lines on a cold cache.
Sound familiar?
What you get
Any subset of the estimate becomes an invoice in two clicks.
The subtotals are the estimate's own, never re-derived.
