Did they open it — delivery badges

One word beside a sent email — Sending, Not opened, Opened, Clicked, Bounced, Didn't send — with severity carried by weight rather than by inventing new colours.

What it is

A badge shown on the pipeline card, in the card header and beside each sent message. Tinted means information, solid means act on this: opened is a green tint, clicked is solid green; not opened is a red tint, bounced is solid red. Each carries a tooltip explaining exactly what it does and does not prove.

Also called: email opened · read receipt · bounced · clicked · email tracking

A pipeline card with the 'Not opened' red-tinted badge pinned top-right, beside another card carrying a solid green 'Clicked'. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1Delivery state comes from the mail provider's events, resolved per message.
  2. 2The board shows the last email's state on each card, so 'who is engaging?' is answered without opening anything.
  3. 3The card header keeps showing it even when the conversation column is collapsed.
  4. 4There is deliberately no open count and no timestamp on the badge.
Why we built it

Asked for it directly: 'a little badge beside where it says the title, that has its status, like a coloured badge… Opened being green, and not being opened being red.' The component then argues the honesty constraint: an open 'is an invisible image loading, and it misses in both directions… Green here means "the pixel loaded", which is good evidence and not proof. Deliberately no count and no timestamp on the badge — a precise number would dress a hint up as a fact.'

The problem
  • A bounced email looked exactly like an ignored one.
  • Following up meant guessing whether the message had landed.
  • Open tracking presented as certainty misleads people.
Sound familiar?
What you get
A bounce is caught the same day instead of being read as silence.
Follow-up effort goes to the people who actually opened.
The badge is honest about what an open really means.
