Pipeline by stage (dashboard)

A bar per sales stage with the count and value sitting in it, built from the same stage catalogue the board renders.

What it is

The dashboard's view of the sales board. Buckets are built from the live sales stage catalogue plus any extra stage a deal can still be sitting in, so nothing is silently dropped. Demo leads are excluded.

'Pipeline by Stage' bar chart with a bar per sales stage in each stage's own colour. DashboardView.tsx. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1One bucket per stage in the sales catalogue, each carrying the stage's own colour.
  2. 2Additional buckets are created for non-catalogue stages that still hold deals.
  3. 3Each contact bumps its stage's count and adds its parsed value.
  4. 4Stages with no deals are filtered out before rendering.
Why we built it

This is a documented bug fix. The chart used to bucket by the retired five-stage model, and 'of every stage a lead can be in, exactly one id still overlapped: "sold". Every other contact hit the if (s) below, matched nothing and was dropped in silence.' 'must be broken, you can see it says Sold and that's it, when really there's lots of pipeline stages and people in those stages.' The fix ties the chart to the board's own catalogue 'so the chart and the columns can no longer disagree about what a stage is.'

The problem
  • The chart silently dropped every deal whose stage was not in a retired list.
  • Chart and board could describe the pipeline differently.
