Scheduled inactivity records carry a crew, a start and end date and a reason (Vacation, Between Projects, Holiday, Sick Leave or custom). A minute-by-minute check toggles the crew's active flag on entry and exit and raises a notification.
Also called: crew on vacation · crew unavailable · between projects · holiday shutdown
- 1The crew card offers Schedule Time Off with a reason picker and date pickers.
- 2Active and upcoming ranges show as banners on the crew header.
- 3A 60-second interval compares today against each range and batches crew active-flag flips so one tick makes one DB write per crew.
- 4Notifications accumulate in a bell on the Team header, and a browser notification is raised when permission was granted.
A crew's holidays lived in somebody's head, so work got scheduled onto men who had told the office weeks earlier that they would be away. Time off is booked against the crew and the scheduler treats them as unavailable for those dates, without anyone having to remember to switch them off and back on again. They return automatically when the dates pass.
- Manual active/inactive toggling that nobody remembers to do.
- Assignments made against crews that are away.
