A fire-and-forget notification fired right after the initial assignment is created. It resolves the crew leader's email through a four-step fallback and sends a branded 'Review & Sign Acceptance Contract' email with a deep link.
Also called: email the crew lead to sign · sign link · action needed contract
- 1Resolution order: crews.lead_user_id matched in the sync table, then a crew_members row marked lead, then a crew_members_sync lead row, then any member with an email.
- 2The link carries ?signCrewAcceptance=<projectId>#/schedule, which the Gantt reads on mount to open the project modal and the contract in sign mode.
- 3A missing lead email returns ok with emailed:false rather than failing, because the lead can still sign from the Teams tab or the project modal.
A contract waiting on a signature that the signer has not been told about is a contract that just waits. The crew lead is emailed the agreement when the assignment is created, and where no address can be found for the lead it goes to someone on the crew who has one, so somebody is told. A missing email address is never fatal — the assignment still exists and can be signed from the team screen or from the project itself.
- Assignments created with nobody notified.
- Signers unable to find the document.
