Total labour divided by crew-days rather than by calendar days or man-hours, because a crew-day is the unit the pay model is actually priced in.

What it is

A headline figure using crewDays — the sum of each crew's distinct days on site — as the denominator, so two crews out on the same Tuesday count as two days of crew cost.

Why we built it

Two crews out on the same Tuesday is two days of crew cost, not one, so dividing labour money by calendar days reads artificially low every week more than one crew is working. Cost per crew-day is the figure that means something: what a day of crew actually costs the business, comparable week to week whatever the headcount. Money over man-hours was the alternative, and it reads like an hourly wage the business does not pay.
