A hold state shown while the contract status is still pending. It thanks the customer by first name, tells them the builder is reviewing their details, asks them to bookmark the page, and notes that it updates automatically. A poll every six seconds flips it into the sign UI without a refresh or a new link.
Also called: waiting for the contract · builder is finalising · hold screen
- 1A contract that is not in a signable status and not yet signed renders the hold
- 2The page re-fetches the contract every 6 seconds while pending
- 3The moment the builder sends it, the status becomes sent and the sign UI renders in place
- 4Polling stops as soon as the status is signable
When the customer submitted their details, the agreement was not ready yet, and a blank page reads as a broken one at exactly the wrong moment. They get a hold screen that says the builder is preparing the agreement and invites them to bookmark the link. The alternative is a customer digging an email link out of their inbox days later, or phoning to ask whether something went wrong.
- Contracts going out before the builder has reviewed the customer's details
- A second email and a second link for every stage
