The shape of the job in one glance: dimensions and square footage, openings collapsed into the counts a builder repeats on the phone ('2 overhead doors, 1 entry door, 4 windows'), and only the options that are switched on — slab, insulation, vapour barrier, porches, lean-tos. The value comes from the same function the pipeline card and Estimates list use.
Also called: job summary on the lead · how big is the building · before the call
- 1Everything is read off the building spec, so the card can never describe a building the estimate isn't pricing.
- 2Openings are counted by kind and sorted by frequency.
- 3Absent options are omitted — a list of things the building doesn't have is noise.
- 4The total comes from the shared design-total hook.
A contact record said nothing about the building except 'open estimate', so a salesperson taking a call had to round-trip through the estimates screen and into the pricing workspace just to remember how big the job was. The card now says how big, how tall, what's on it and what it's worth, read off the estimate's own specification — the shape of the job in one glance, before the phone stops ringing.
- No summary of the job where the salesperson actually is
