Signed agreement one tap from the customer's dashboard

Once the build starts and the contract is fully signed, a Project Agreement card on the customer's dashboard opens the signed document in a modal — without navigating them off their dashboard.

What it is

A card reading 'View signed contract — Review or download a copy of your agreement', gated on the project having started and the contract being fully executed. It opens the contract page framed via ?embed=1, which suppresses the page's own back navigation while keeping Print / Save PDF.

The dashboard's Project Agreement card beside Recent Activity, and the modal it opens containing the framed agreement. client/[id]/page.tsx PortalDocModal. Sample data — no customer information appears here.
How it works
  1. 1contractFullySigned = status 'fully_executed' or a non-null counter_signed_at; a null contract counts as not signed.
  2. 2The tile only renders when projectStarted, the contract is fully signed, and the dash:agreement section is enabled.
  3. 3?embed=1 hides 'Back to Project Dashboard' because inside a modal it 'would have navigated the IFRAME (leaving the customer staring at a dashboard inside a dashboard)'.
  4. 4Print stays: 'a customer reading their agreement is exactly who wants a copy.'
Why we built it

Quoted from the page: 'I'd also like the project agreement — when they click view signed contract, for that to open up in a modal, not on a separate page'. The gate has its own reason: contractFullySigned 'guards against ever offering a half-executed agreement (customer-signed but not yet counter-signed)'.

The problem
  • Re-sending the signed contract on request
  • Customers navigated away from their dashboard to read a document
  • Half-executed agreements being offered as a copy
Sound familiar?
What you get
Self-serve access to the signed agreement for the life of the project
Opens in place, closes back to the dashboard
Only ever offers a fully executed document
